Thursday, June 11, 2026 — Sylvie & The Rain Tree: Black Poetry, Music, and the Haitian Kont, 7 PM
Art song, storytelling, and Haitian musical traditions in a powerful evening of performance. A lecture recital by Kuwento Mizik –baritone Jean Bernard Cerin and pianist Veena Kulkarni-Rankin– featuring their original musical folk tale, Sylvie & The Rain Tree alongside music by African American composers and lyrics by Black poets. PROGRAM WILL BE ANNOUNCED FROM THE STAGE
Friday, June 12, 2026 — Faculty & Fellows in Concert 7 PM
An evening showcasing the artistry and growth of CPI’s emerging performers.
A final concert celebrating new work, creative collaboration, and the next generation of art song.
The first of two culminating performances featuring CPI participants.
