The Collaborative Piano Institute is proud to announce CSI: the Collaborative String Institute! Violinists, violist, cellists, and bassists can apply as individual participants, or as part of a pre-existing group.
CSI provides focused, individual instruction, collaborative opportunities, as well as lectures and group classes on many topics. Click here to see what a typical day at the CSI will look like!

Students that participate in our instrumental program will:
- Play in trios, quartets and quintets with CPI pianists and other instrumentalists in our program
- Play side by side with our renowned faculty in chamber groups
- Receive private lessons and coachings
- Have supervised practice time every morning with faculty and assistant faculty
- Participate in masterclasses with renowned string teachers and chamber musicians
- Attend special topics classes: preparing orchestral excerpts for auditions, learning and practicing effectively, performance anxiety, how to collaborate with different instruments, and much more!
- Attend and participate in faculty concerts
- Explore and perform new music

Austrian/German string and piano repertoire
South American Chamber music
Audition preparation for graduate school, summer festivals, and Young Artist Programs
Technique issues and practice strategies
Develop Your Sight Reading
Effective learning techniques and time management
Performance anxiety

CSI Faculty include:
- Paul Kantor, violin (professor at Rice University and Aspen Music Festival)
- Simón Gollo, violin (conductor, professor at Furman University, and Member of the Reverón Piano Trio)
- Espen Lilleslåtten, violin (Louisiana State University and Aspen Music Festival)
- Amaro Dubois, viola (University of Georgia)
- Horacio Contreras, cello (Universitu of North Texas, and Member of the Reverón Piano Trio)
- Dennis Parker, cello (Louisiana State University)

Tuition: $1,200 for two weeks plus room and board (optional). Merit scholarships are available (more information in the application form).
