Starry Nights @ CPI 2023: Our wonderful recital series

You are invited to join us at one of the concerts on our Starry Nights at CPI Recital Series! Numerous concerts will take place within the next three weeks, both in person and via livestream.
 
Admission is free but donations are appreciated!

Starry Nights I Faculty & Participant Recital: Friday, June 9th, 7:00PM

LSU School of Music Recital Hall 
Featuring: MET Stars Paul Groves (tenor), Elizabeth Bishop (soprano), and Howard Watkins (Assistant Conductor)! With Rita Sloan and Kathleen Kelly (piano legends), Simón Gollo (violin, CSI Director, Reverón Piano Trio), Megan Ihnen (mezzo-soprano), Kimberly Sparr (viola), Dennis Parker (cello), Elena Lacheva and Ana Maria Otamendi (piano).

 

Starry Nights II Faculty and Participant Recital: Saturday, June 10th at 7:00PM

LSU School of Music Recital Hall 
Join us for a concert featuring faculty Molly Redfield, Nanci Belmont, Dennis Parker, and Simón Gollo side by side with participants playing piano quintets, brand new compositions by the participants of the Composition Intensive, and Latin American music!

Participant Recital I: thursday, June 15th at 7:00PM

LSU School of Music Recital Hall 
A wonderful evening with a variety of music from Europe, Latin America, and the United States, performed by the wonderful participants of the Vocal Academy, the String Institute, and the Collaborative Piano Institute!

Starry Nights III Faculty Recital: Friday, June 16th, 7:00PM

LSU School of Music Recital Hall 
Martin Katz and Warren Jones (world-renowned pianists) will perform with fantastic baritone Timothy Jones (University of Houston) and  LSU Faculty Dennis Parker. Espen Lilleslåtten (LSU Professor of Violin) and Elena Lacheva will regale us with a movement from Strauss Violin Sonata; Sandra Moon and Korliss Uecker, sopranos with long international careers will perform selections by Brahms, Dupont, and Edith Piaf.

Participant Recital II: Saturday, June 17th at 7:00PM

LSU School of Music Recital Hall 
Come hear the final recital of the Collaborative Strings Institute! In addition to new and exciting Latin American works, our wonderful faculty Espen Lilleslatten will perform with piano, string and voice participants during this recital that includes the Vaughan Williams and Schumann piano quintets!
