The Brahms Project

Are you a clarinetist who has always wanted to understand Brahms’ music at a much deeper level? Do you aspire to learn in depth all of his duo sonata output, analyze its intricacies, and interpret it with the right style?

Then the Brahms Project at the Collaborative Piano Institute is the program for you! In the span of two weeks, you will have the opportunity to learn from master coaches (pianists and clarinetists), perform in many masterclasses, attend lectures about Brahms’ music, and perform in recitals alongside the fabulous pianists of the Collaborative Piano Institute.
Some of the lecture/class topics include:

  • Brahms style: what it is and how to play his music. An interactive workshop
  • An overview of all the sonatas for piano and clarinet, cello, and violin
  • An in-depth analysis of his clarinet sonatas
  • Brahms’ contemporaries and the historical circumstances  surrounding his compositions
