CPI Online

We are currently planning for two scenarios: in person and online. If COVID-19 makes it impossible to hold the Institute live, we will once again hold CPI fully online in the summer of 2021! In both cases, the dates remain: June 6th – June 20th, 2021

Application deadlines:

Active Participants – March 15th

Auditors – June 6th

All members of our faculty have been teaching online during the past year, and are well prepared to help CPI participants learn remotely.

What remains the same? We still have the same world-class faculty and guest artists. You will continue to receive the incredibly high-quality content and practical guidance we offer during regular CPI editions, since all our lecture content is online-friendly.

What is different? The format!

  • One on one or group (European Style) Zoom lessons
    • When: two to three times per week
    • What: one on one, or four participants for 2 hours at a time with a faculty member to observe each other’s repertoire and playing/singing.
    • How: asynchronously via a recording, and/or synchronously via Zoom. See our faculty here:
  • Zoom lectures and workshops
    • When: two to three times per day
    • What: see topics here:
  • Q&A/Discussion Zoom sessions
    • When: two to three times per week
    • What: hear about the unique path and career development of our faculty and guest speakers, and ask any questions that you have!
    • Who: in addition to our current faculty, world renowned conductors, music directors and opera stars will join the sessions
  • Zoom Masterclasses
    • When: every week
    • What: repertoire to be determined by faculty member and the pianist’s internet connection and instrument availability
    • How: synchronously or asynchronously
  • Unfortunately, for obvious reasons CPI Online will not be able to offer the synchronous experience of making music in-person with an instrumentalist, pianist, or singer. However, we all strongly agree that playing and singing, as well as performing the piano parts without partners provide ample opportunity for feedback and growth. If you live with or close to an instrumentalist or singer, and you wish to record something together, we would welcome that, but only if it doesn’t violate quarantine mandates or puts anyone at risk.
