The Collaborative Piano Institute launches the CPI Recital Series!

Great news! Audiences in Faribault and Minneapolis will be able to enjoy fantastic music-making by the CPI faculty and guests in our newly minted CPI Recital Series, featuring:

  • Legendary pianist Martin Katz and internationally acclaimed baritone Jesse Blumberg, praised by the New York Times for his “rich sound and dramatic authority”. The recital will present a life’s journey through Beethoven’s An die ferne Geliebte, Schumann’s Liederkreis op. 24, Ravel’s Histories naturelles, and songs by Charles Ives. We are elated to hear Mr. Blumberg sing not only in concert, but also in masterclasses with the CPI students.
  • The Reverón Piano Trio, who will be in residence at the Collaborative Piano Institute. The trio will perform works by Mendelssohn, Villa-Lobos, and Rachmaninoff, and will also teach and perform with CPI students.
  • Rising stars mezzo-soprano Amy Sheffer and pianist Christopher Turbessi, who will perform works by Argento and Elgar, among others. Mr. Turbessi will join the faculty at CPI,  and Ms. Schaffer will collaborate in recitals and masterclasses with the CPI students.
